EURO 2012: meeting with UEFA
- Out of a black horse Ukraine and Poland have turned into EURO 2012’s favorite – said Grygoriy Surkis, President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, the UEFA Executive Committee member during the Polish Football Association Congress which took place on 30th October in Warsaw.
The Congress was devoted to the issues of the country’s main governing body restructuring, bringing changes into its statute, and analysis of the candidate to the presidential position. The participants of the Congress raised a number of issues, connected to the problems in Polish football and ways of their solving, and discussed the cooperation program with state authorities of the country as well as preparation stage of the join Bid of Ukraine and Poland for the right to host the European Football Championship EURO 2012.
Grygoriy Surkis, President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, the UEFA Executive Committee member and Ivan Fedorenko, director of the Executive Direction FFU EURO 2012, participated in the Congress from the Ukrainian side. In his speech FFU President highly evaluated level of several years cooperation between FFU and its Polish partners, assured the participants that Ukraine and Poland posses good chances to gain victory in the tender for the right to host EURO 2012, and underlined the significance of the meeting:
- This Congress makes a huge difference, first of all, for the Polish football image, its transparence in the eyes of world community and fans. We have to show that we are a loyal partner, who is ready to undertake his responsibility, implement it fully and on time.
