UEFA in Poland!

The visit of UEFA representative in Poland starts today. The team of experts in charge of selection the host of the European Football Championships will evaluate actual condition and potential of Poland as the host of EURO 2012. The visit in Poland will last until 13th September, when the UEFA representative shall departure to Ukraine.

While visiting candidate countries, UEFA representatives at first want to meet with officials of the state authorities and local self-governments. These meeting are to prove involvement and support of the government for hosting of the European Football Championships 2012.

UEFA will verify the actual condition of sporting facilities in Poland, hotel and transport infrastructure. Development plans and level of consistency with UEFA requirements will be taken into account.

The UEFA visit in Poland is of a key importance for the whole candidature of Poland and Ukraine and significantly influences future evaluation of the country, as well as UEFA decision on selection of host of the European Championships UEFA EURO 2012.

During procedure of the host selection, UEFA evaluates potential candidates according to 4 elements:

- application documentation (transmitted to UEFA on 31st May this year),
- visiting candidate countries (10th-12th September – Poland/12th-15th September – Ukraine),
- results of public surveys for support in candidate country (October 2006),
- final presentation of each candidate (7th December 2006).
