The Minister of Sport Tomasz Lipiec is meeting today in Zurich Horst R. Schmidt, the president of the organizing committee for world football championship in 2006. The talks will focus on organization of EURO 2012, amongst other topics. (Nasz Dziennik)

A special system for servicing of fans at EURO 2012, co-financing of stadiums from European Union assistance funds, involvement of business in the investments – there are elements of an investment strategy currently developed by the government.
Officially the project is called "Strategy for participation of structural funds and cohesion fund in efficient implementation of EURO 2012". The government is to adopt the strategy in early July. (Gazeta Wyborcza)

Six voivodeships submitted to the Ministry of Regional Development the list of projects, whose implementation is necessary for hosting of EURO 2012.
The largest amounts of money are to be allocated to road, railway projects and construction of stadiums. The voivodeships made preliminary estimations of the costs of preparations for the tournament at PLN 26.5 billion. In early July the government will make a decision on distribution of funds from the European Union to meet the needs of the cities. (Gazeta Prawna)

The Central Sport Authority completed works on the rules of the international architectural competition. The main task of the Warsaw committee for EURO will be monitoring of the overhauls of capital city’s streets and of the construction of the hotel base for fans. The committee intends to make reports on subsequent stages of preparations for EURO 2012. It also planned meetings with representatives of other committees for EURO: the government, voivodeship and other local government ones.
The committee declares that it will work above any political divisions. Without accounting for parities, the committee is composes of three councilors of each of the following parties: PiS, PO and LID. The committee is chaired by Katarzyna Munio (PO). On 15-17th June the football tournament "Children’s dreams of EURO 2012" will be held in Poznań. The event aims at popularization of sport, identification of young talents and acquainting with the idea of the European championships. (Głos Wielkopolski)

By 2012 Poznań want to purchase 50 low floor tramways. City authorities want tramways and buses to run every two minutes during EURO 2012. Fans would leave cars at city boundaries and move around the city by municipal transport. Poznań authorities are planning to allocate a record sum of PLN 450 million for purchase of new carriages.
