EURO 2012: meeting with UEFA
Important road investments are planned in Poznań: creation of the 3rd transport framework, reconstruction of Bukowska and Bułgarska streets and completion of the expansion of Głogowska street, which will enable smooth transport connections during EURO 2012.
Expansion of Głogowska street is already underway. Reconstruction of Głogowska street will definitely improve driving conditions for drivers leaving in the direction of Wrocław. Moreover the double-lane road will improve the efficiency of the connection with the city center, particularly with "Ławica" airport.
The section of A2 motorway to Junikowskiego stream is likely to be completed this year. Meanwhile in June ZDM (the Municipal Roads Management) will invite bidders for a tender for construction of a further section of the street – from Junikowskiego stream to Rawicka street.
The top priority for ZDM is construction of the second section of the 3rd transport framework, from Lutycka node to Górczyn node. The following nodes are still to constructed along this route: Edwardowo, Grunwaldzka, Promienista and Ptasia. The investment will enable efficient transport connections in the Lecha Stadium area. A fragment of the 3rd framework will also ease the traffic in Polska and Bułgarska streets.
The authorities of Poznań are also planning to reconstruct Bukowska street. By the end of this year the investor will invite bidder for a tender for a blueprint of this investment. Works will commence next year.
Before EURO 2012 road builders also want to modernize Dolna Wilda street (from A2 to Hetmańska street) and Nowe Zawady street (from Środka to Główna street).
