Review of Polish press

Yesterday a press conference was held in Warsaw of the heads of diplomacy of Poland and Ukraine – Anna Fotyga and Arsenij Jaceniuk. The ministers stressed that it was necessary to sign an agreement between Poland and Ukraine on EURO 2012. Much attention was devoted to the role that might be played by the championships in economic and political relations. (Gazeta Krakowska)

By the time of EURO 2012 the Warsaw Central Railway Station is to undergo a general refurbishment. Underground floors with platforms and pedestrian passages and the main hall will be overhauled. It is estimated that the modernization will cost approx. EUR 40 million. (Gazeta Wyborcza Stołeczna)

According to the draft act on the National Sport Center Totalizator Sportowy (the Football Pool) will become the owner of Warsaw Dziesięciolecia Stadium and will construct the center in place of the stadium. (Rzeczpospolita)

The merchants trading at Dziesięciolecia Stadium cannot decide on a new location while the city authorities are proposing other new locations – in Ursus and Praga Południe districts. The merchants must leave the Stadium by the end of September. (Gazeta Wyborcza Stołeczna)

Investors are already concluding first contracts on cooperation in the construction of the infrastructure for EURO 2012. In mid May companies Polnord and PKO Inwestycje signed the letter of intent, which contains cooperation terms for acquisition and implementation of the projects of sport and entertainment facilities. Moreover they are interested in creation of a consortium for construction of road and motorways. (Gazeta Polska)
