A strategy for modernization of railway lines was developed in the Ministry of Transport. It assumes refurbishment of approx. 1000 kilometers of the railway routes so that by the time of EURO 2012 trains can travel at a speed of 200–220 kilometers per hour. (Puls Biznesu)

Investors from all over the world, including Norway, the United Kingdom, China, the United Arab Emirates and Israel, are interested in the modernization and expansion of Polish transport infrastructure. Analysts envisage that in the forthcoming seven years we will spend almost EUR 24 billion from EU funds and EUR 5 billion from the budget of the state and local governments on new roads, stations, airports and maritime ports. Investors will cover the remaining costs.

Modern railway stations will be constructed in the host cities of EURO 2012. The modernization will cost almost PLN 2.5 billion. PKP SA is unable to allocate such sum and therefore it invites for cooperation private investors from Poland and aboard. (Rzeczpospolita)

Experts think that EURO 2012 will change the labor market structure in Poland. Unemployment will drop and national average salary will rise to PLN 3500–3900, while Poles will become more mobile.

- The championships will contribute to involvement of those human resources that remain unutilized today.
