TP launches the world’s biggest virtual stadium

For all those supporting the hosting of the European Championships in 2012 in Poland and in Ukraine, Telekomunikacja Polska launched the world’s biggest VIRTUAL STADIUM – www.wirtualnystadion.pl. It is the crowning of the campaign in support for the idea of hosting EURO 2012 in Poland and in Ukraine.

As soon as in 22 days the UEFA Executive Committee is meeting in Cardiff to decide where the European Championships EURO 2012 will be held. For Poland and Ukraine the three forthcoming weeks are the last straight before the finish line. On 17th April, one day before announcement of the UEFA decision, the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko will jointly make the final presentation of our bid.

At the same time Telekomunikacja Polska, in the frames of the campaign of collecting voices in support for hosting of EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, launched the VIRTUAL STADIUM (www.wirtualnystadion.pl). Any Internaut can join the virtual community supporting EURO 2012 in Poland.

- The more fans will have sat on this stadium by 17th April, the better. On that day we are planning to provide to UEFA the final number of persons collected on the stadium. This way we will show how much we want to host EURO 2012 in our country – stresses Szymon Dobrzyński, the Director of TP Brand Management Department.

The stadium will accommodate at least 100 thousand persons. This is the world’s biggest virtual stadium. Although no matches will be played on it, the virtual stadium will become a meeting place and a spot for joint entertainment for fans. So far the organizers have announced that a Mexican wave will be held on the stadium. There will be also competitions for fans and joint support for Poland-Ukraine bid on 18th April. Each fan can choose not only the sector and seat, but also add a description, photo or choose a figure that will represent them (so-called avatar).
