Ukraine: the Euro 2012 Law in the Parliament
On 28th February the first reading of the Draft Law concerning organization of EURO 2012 started in the Ukrainian Parliament.
On 28th February the Cabinet of Ministries submitted the Draft Law on "Organizing and Staging the European Football Championship Final Tournament 2012 in Ukraine" to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. A discussion on the draft began under the chairmanship of Mykola Tomenko - the Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
- This Law will become the central element of the organization and staging of EURO 2012 – said Grygoriy Surkis, the head of the Ukrainian Football Federation.
The Draft Law regulates such issues as visa regime, work permits, currency exchange during staging of the Championships, as well as other major issues, such as ambush marketing and unauthorized ticket sale.
Mr. Tomenko expressed his confidence that the EURO 2012 Law would be adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament in time to meet all UEFA requirements for hosting of the Championship.
