EURO 2012: meeting with UEFA
According to a decision of the minister of sport Tomasz Lipiec, on Tuesday Michał Nykowski substituted Piotr Gawron in the position of the head of Polish Staff for EURO 2012 Project.
Michał Nykowski used to be Gawron’s deputy for marketing and promotion.
Piotr Gawron, the previous head of the project in Poland, believes that the change in the position of the head of the staff will not influence the UEFA decision, because “we are the best candidate”.
Documents on Poland-Ukraine bid were submitted timely to the UEFA headquarters. The organization accepted them and is preparing a special report. On 17th April the final presentation will be held before the Executive Committee and on 18th April the winner of the bidding will be announced.
Italy and Croatia/Hungary are other bidders for the right to host the European Championships.
