If Ukraine together with Poland gets the right to host the European championship EURO 2012, it will lead to a great burst of economical development of our country. It is a big deal!
We are competing with Italy, as well as Hungary and Croatia. Everything will depend on how well prepared our Bid documentation is, and how actively authorities will participate іn the tender, as well as which guarantees they will give concerning the project implementation. I know that Football Federation of Ukraine has been actively fighting and has done a great job in preparation for the tender. As far as I know, our Bid has already been successfully presented at the UEFA Congress. Let’s hope that it will be namely us, who receive this prestigious right to host EURO 2012.

Hosting of such tournaments as European and World Championships or Olympic games can play a significant role for Ukraine, especially in the political aspect. We are a young State, after collapse of the Soviet Union our sport, namely Ukrainian football, is developing more and more, and our National team plays better and better. Imagine what a flow of emotions people will get if they see such an event happening with their own eyes?

No doubts that an even of such a big scale as European Championship can bring a lot of good to any country, in which it takes place. In case if EURO 2012 is held in Ukraine and Poland, our country will attract new sponsors, investors, tourists; at last new roads of a European standard will be built in Ukraine. Because in order to attend matches of the championship that will take place in different cities guests will have to get there in some way. Ukrainian clubs will definitely get stimulated to correspond to the level of the championship.
Already the example of the National team participation at the World Championship showed that not only ordinary people are interested in that event but politicians, businessmen, cultural workers, etc. Namely such an active support of fans helped us to succeed; Ukraine saw that football is not just a game.

This year we have achieved a great success at the World Championship in Germany, and especially, at the U-21 European championship, which was held in Portugal. By this we proved that the result was worth fighting. If the European Championship takes place in Ukraine, every day for our fans will turn into a celebration.

One can list advantages of a European Championship hosting for Ukraine endlessly; there won’t be enough space on paper. But first of all, it is an intensive popularization of football in the state, fast development of the cities and infrastructure, and of course, emotions of people, not only of active fans but also ordinary inhabitants.

If not to mention sports advantages of hosting European Championship, for Ukraine it is first of all improvement of roads and infrastructure, construction of new hotels and airports, creation of tens thousand of jobs, and the most important, – improving of our country’s image on the international arena. Hundreds thousand of fans will visit us in order to support their teams at the European Championship, and the state will be obliged to meet them on the highest level.

Hosting of an European Championship is a historical event not only for our country and Ukrainian football but also for Eastern Europe. This year not only members of the national team were able to feel the atmosphere of a football celebration but also a lot of fans, who were following the games of the World Championship both on German stadiums and in front of their TV-sets. The World Championship in Germany demonstrated a high standard of organization and hosting of this kind of tournaments, which we need to aim to achieve. I think that the joint team of organizers will make everything possible in order to present their Bid and the possibilities of hosting tournaments on European level. I can assure that football players of the national team will do everything possible on the football pitches to help Ukraine and Poland to win the tender for the right to host EURO 2012. It will be a wonderful present for Ukrainian and Polish people.
