Art competition

Idea

The Staff of EURO 2012 Project is announcing an art competition for Polish schools. The competition is related to the idea of hosting European Football Championships in 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

A similar competition started in December 2006 in Ukraine and is called "EURO 2012 – a step forward". The competition invites pupils to send in drawings and letters about the following topic: "My imagination about the Final Tournament of   the European Football Championship in Ukraine and Poland".

Assumptions

The competition in Poland aims at encouraging teachers and pupils to express their support to hosting of EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. This support is to be expressed through art works presenting pupils' reflection about EURO 2012.

Teachers of Polish schools, who will organize the competition in their schools, should send the pupils' works to the organizer by 15th February 2007.

Evaluation

The Jury, which will be composed of representatives of the EURO 2012 Staff, will evaluate the works from substantive and artistic point of view and will award prizes in two age categories.

The evaluation criteria will be as follows:

• relevance of the selectionof the problem and topic of the work,
• originality of the expression on the selected topic,
• choice of art technique,
• artistic merits.

Prizes

The main prize in the competition is a set of gadgets promoting EURO 2012.

Additional prizes will be given to a random selection from among all authors who will send their works for the competition:
a) 100 scarves
b) 100 T-shirts
c) 200 leashes

Application

The teachers, who intend to organize the competition in their schools, should notify this fact to the competition organizer by 15th January 2007. They should provide their contact data, including the e-mail address.

The deadline for sending in of the works expires on 14th February 2007. The date of the the stamp affixed by the post office is decisive. Please send your works to the following competition organizer's address:
