07/03/26: TP launches the world’s biggest virtual stadium

For all those supporting the hosting of the European Championships in 2012 in Poland and in Ukraine, Telekomunikacja Polska launched the world’s biggest VIRTUAL STADIUM – www.wirtualnystadion.pl. It is the crowning of the campaign in support for the idea of hosting EURO 2012 in Poland and in Ukraine.

07/03/17: 1,716,885 Ukrainian children supported EURO 2012

1,716,885 children sent in letters and drawings of support for hosting of EURO 2012 in Ukraine and in Poland. The artistic competition under the title „EURO 2012 - step into future” finished on 16th March. It mainly aimed at involving pupils and youth in the support for the idea of hosting the European Championships. Through drawings and letters young participants described how they imagine the final tournament of EURO 2012 in Ukraine and in Poland. Over a million and a half works have been submitted for the competition.

07/03/12: Ukrainian Government predicts an unprecedented €6-billion boost from EURO 2012 championships

The Minister of Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine, Mr Viktor Korzh, announced this week that should the Poland-Ukraine bid win the rights to host the 2012 UEFA European Championships, Ukraine would attract an unprecedented 6-billion Euro investment in infrastructure.

07/03/07: Presidents of Poland and Ukraine confirm their commitment to host the UEFA EURO 2012

At a meeting held today in Warsaw, Poland, the Presidents of Poland and Ukraine confirmed their 100% commitment to do everything necessary to help their respective Football Associations to secure the rights to host the UEFA EURO Championships in 2012.

07/03/05: Blatter's visit gives boost to Poland and Ukraine EURO Bid
 
The joint Bid by Poland and Ukraine to host the UEFA EURO 2012 was given a big boost following Monday's visit by FIFA President Sepp Blatter to Warsaw, to meet with the Polish President Lech Kaczynski.

06/10/13: The world’s longest football scarf will be created in Warsaw

As early as this Saturday, on 14th October 2006, an attempt at beating the Guinness world record for the world’s longest football scarf will take place on the streets of Warsaw. It will be composed of about 8 thousand scarves sewn to celebrate the submission of Poland-Ukraine bid for the right to host the European Football Championships UEFA EURO 2012.

06/10/11: As many as half a million Poles have already supported the idea to host UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine

In just 5 days 501,639 persons expressed their support for the Poland-Ukraine bid for hosting of the European Football Championships in 2012. You can still voice support for Polish bid „with your legs". To this end it suffices to walk through one of special Goalposts of Support, which will stay for two more days in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań and Wrocław.

06/10/06: we all support hosting of UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine

A social campaign was launched to promote Poland-Ukraine bid for the right to host the European Football Championships UEFA EURO 2012. Poles will be encouraged to support such important idea for our country through  billboards, television, press and radio advertisements across Poland. The enthusiasm is to be reinforced through numerous non-standard actions and happenings.

06/09/08: EURO 2012 – Visit to Poland

Representatives of UEFA, responsible for the selection of the host of the European Football Championships, are coming to Poland on 10th September to visit the candidate host cities for EURO 2012 matches. The visit to Poland will finish on 13th September, when UEFA representative are going to Ukraine.

 

06/05/31: Poland and Ukraine - ready for UEFA EURO 2012

The Presidents of two football federations - Mr. Michał Listkiewicz from Poland and Mr. Grygoriy Surkis from Ukraine - in front of Sports Ministers and presidents of the National Olympic Committees and famous sport personalities from both countries - have presented their joint EURO 2012 Bid document to UEFA today.

 

06/05/11: The Polish part of the bid for hosting of UEFA EURO 2012 goes to Ukraine

The Staff of EURO 2012 Project is near completing the documentation required for preparation of the bid for hosting of the European Football Championships UEFA EURO 2012. On Friday, 12th May 2006. representatives of the Polish staff are going to Ukraine to submit the documents and decide on the final shape and form of the bid. Details of submission of the documentation to EUFA will be also discussed.

 

06/05/08: All candidate cities in the bid for hosting of EURO 2012

All candidate host cities for hosting of the final tournament of the European Football Championships UEFA Euro 2012 supplemented the missing documents. The bid to be submitted by Poland and Ukraine on 31st May 2006 to UEFA, will include documents of six Polish cities.

 

06/04/26: Cities supplement the bidding documentation for UEFA

The Staff of  EURO 2012 Project met representatives of all candidate host cities for matches of UEFA EURO 2012 and put the individual cities under obligation to supplement the bids with documents that were missing or inadequately prepared.

 

06/04/25: All cities in the bid for hosting of EURO 2012

After negotiations with UEFA, Poland was granted consent for inclusion of documentation for all six cities - candidates to host the European Football Championships UEFA EURO 2012, provided that bids from four cities are presented as main candidates and two cities – as reserve hosts.

 

06/04/13: Selection of host cities for EURO 2012 matches postponed

The Staff of EURO 2012 Project made a decision to postpone the deadline for selection of the cities – candidates for hosts of EURO 2012 matches. The planned deadline for selection of the cities to be included in the bid for the right to host EURO 2012 was postponed until Thursday, 20th April 2006.

 

06/04/10: Change in the modality of submission of cities - candidates for hosts of EURO 2012

- We shall keep all six cities in the bid documentation for UEFA. We won consent for submission of documentation including four main cities and two additional ones - said Piotr Gawron, the president of the Executive Committee for Organization of the European Football Championships EURO 2012.

 

06/03/08: Changes in the management of the Polish Staff of EURO 2012 Project

On Tuesday, 7th March 2005, Tomasz Lipiec, the Minister of Sport, accepted the resignation of Paweł Szostek from the function of the Staff of the Project for the Organization of the European Football Championships EURO 2012. At the same time Tomasz Lipiec appointed Piotr Gawron to the position of the Director General  of the Staff of EURO 2012 Project.

 

06/02/23: European Championships EURO 2012 are drawing near – a meeting of the Executive Committee for Organization of the European Football Championships EURO 2012.

The Staff of EURO 2012 Project provided to individual ministries the scope of actions and necessary documents and guarantees required for preparation of complete documentation for the UEFA EURO 2012 tender.

*Any rights granted to a third party in respect of the Bid Logo shall automatically terminate upon the termination of Bidder's involvement in the Selection Procedure (Art. 7.1. paragraph d) of the UEFA Bid Regulations) i.e. after 18th June 2007.
